Easy Eggplant Parmesean

Easy Eggplant Parmesan

Thanks to my fellow blogger for posting an amazing recipe on Pinterest which helped me make a quick and easy eggplant parm for dinner last night. It turned out to be amazing, with a few minor tweaks to the original recipe.

Ingredients:
1 large eggplant
1-2 eggs
garlic salt
breadcrumbs
1-2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 can marinara
basil leaves

1. Warm stove to 350-400 degrees. Put butter or oil on a large pan for the casserole style eggplant parmesan. Put a hearty amount of marinara sauce on the bottom of the pan.

2. Cut the eggplant into circles, very thin. Whip eggs in a separate bowl and dip each eggplant slice into the eggs individually. Then in another bowl, place into garlic salt/bread crumb mixture. Once that is complete place the eggplant slice into the large pan that you will stick into the oven. Repeat this step until all eggplant slices are in the large pan for baking.

3. Sprinkle cheese on top of the casserole style dish and even in between the eggplant slices for a cheesier meal. Put basil leaves on top of the dish and bake for 25-30 min.

4. Allow the dish to cool down 5-10 min. On a dish, place a large spoonful of marinara  and then place a square size amount of the eggplant parmesan on the plate, sprinkle with more mozzarella cheese and a fresh piece of basil on top for a picture worthy dish.

5. VOILA, eat and enjoy. This dish also pairs perfectly with a glass of chardonnay!

Peplum & Pink

 Peplum watercolor top: H&M

Pleated chiffon maxi shirt: Ross

Wedges:  A'gaci

Necklace: Charlotte Russe

Bracelet: H&M

I found this amazing peplum top at H&M a few months back and wasn't sure what to wear it with. Like most of my outfits, I tucked in the flared out bottom of the shirt into my long maxi skirt to look like a dress instead of two pieces. I still love the top by itself but thought it would coordinate with my pastel pink skirt just in time for spring. In Northern California, it's hard to tell what the weather will be like any time of the year and if you live here, or have ever visited, you know it's better to just layer, layer, layer! This outfit is perfect for by itself or for layering a jean jacket, a light colored leather jacket or even a large cardigan on top. Hope this outfit creates some inspiration in your own closet!

XOXO,

86th Annual Academy Awards, Best Dressed

The 86th Annual Academy Awards

The Academy Awards , commonly known as The Oscars, is an annual American awards ceremony honoring achievements in the film industry. Winners are awarded the statuette, officially the Academy Award of Merit, that is much better known by its nickname Oscar. The awards, first presented in 1929 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, are overseen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).

The awards ceremony was first televised in 1953 and is now seen live in more than 200 countries. The Oscars is also the oldest entertainment awards ceremony; its equivalents, the Golden Globes for foreign and domestic productions (film and television) the Emmy Awards for American television, the Tony Awards for theatre, and the Grammy Awards for music and recording, are modeled after the Academy Awards.

Year after year I am glued to the television in awe when watching the Academy Awards. Yes, I'll admit I was that nine year old child who went to school Monday morning after The Oscars and tried to discuss why Jack Nicholson won an award and Leonardo DiCaprio was not even nominated. (I'm still rooting for you Leo) But on a serious note, I never understood why more people were not starry eyed for the gorgeous designer dresses, the pure talent walking through the red carpet and flashing lights of the cameras just to get a glimpse of some amazing star walking by. That's when I realized, it was just me and the handful of other 'theater nerds' from school. I have so much appreciation, love and respect for the all actors, designers, directors, producers, musicians and extra Hollywood talent that make movie magic happen.

I've picked my Top Three favorite 'Best Dressed' females and males to share with you along with a small montage of the Top Five most talked about moments at the 86th Annual Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. Check out the full list of winners: 86th Annual Oscar Winners

Number 3:  Lupita Nyong'o
In an amazing light blue Prada dress that literally made her look like Cinderella. With just a hint of sparkle in her headband, earrings and bracelet, she stunned the audience with the way her dress flew in the wind. Absolutely amazing and looked like an Oscar winner on the red carpet before actually taking home gold.
Best Actress in a Supporting Role for 12 Years a Slave

Number 2: Cate Blanchett
Stunningly beautiful in a gold gown by Armani Prive with elegant beading and the amazing design with doesn't remotely looked washed out. You can't even tell there the dress begins on her neckline and it just drapes her body perfectly. Old Hollywood glam hair and light makeup makes her winning the Oscar, that much better!
Best Actress in a Leading Role: Blue Jasmine

Number 1: Kate Hudson
Hudson is wearing an Atelier Versace dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Versace clutch, and Neil Lane jewels. My number one pick because of how she pulled the entire look together. Small beading and silk fabric can only be pulled off by this lovely celeb. Not only was the draping of the gown amazing, but the cape that is attached to this dress with an open back is just mind blowing. I cannot even stop staring at how beautiful she looked.

Number 3: Jared Leto
As white blazers reign the red carpet, one of my favorites was Jared Leto with a burgundy bow tie by Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. Although this outfit could have looked extra cheesy on anyone else, Leto is such a stud muffin, he can literally pull off anything (even rocking his hair in a bun) The man is so pretty to look at, I could stare into his eyes FOREVER!
Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Dallas Buyer's Club

 Number 2: Bradley Cooper
In a Tom Ford tuxedo and a Chopard Watch, styled by
Not the winner of the night, but still dressed like a million dollars. He has got to be one of the sexiest men alive and still has a sense of humor. The bow tie is definitely looking very sharp on Mr. Cooper and I know the ladies cannot complain.

In a Dolce & Gabanna tuxedo and we saw a ton of white blazers worn by men on the red carpet, but I have to say that McConaughey's tux was the best of the night.
