In the islands of Waikiki

Island Paradise

As the year started, you start to reminisce on the past year and how you can change your outlook for the better for the next year to come. Last year, a friend of mine planned her family vacation in February and asked if I'd like to come along. After having a rough year myself, I decided this would be the best way to begin my year of change. We went on some awesome adventures around Oahu and Waikiki. Here are a few of the adventures that I wanted to share with you.

Flying into Oahu, Hawaii

Our amazing view from the resort

I made it to paradise!

The water had turtles that would swim right next to you

Went on an awesome hike that ended with a beautiful waterfall

Hawaiian shaved ice is a must!

But first, coffee

But first, coffee

Sometimes, you have one of those days during the week when coffee does not do you justice. Oh yes, I'm talking about today. When I'm feeling extra lazy, I guarantee that you can find me in my boyfriend jeans filled with holes. Call it fashion or call it comfort, either way, my mother will tell you that she loves them. (haha maybe not)

San Francisco Fashion Week 2015

San Francisco Fashion Week 2015

San Francisco has been putting designers, models, brands and bloggers on the map with their week long fashion events. I was so lucky to attend two events this year; a networking blogger event and the closing high fashion show. I met some of the greatest people during the event and put my faith back in San Francisco fashion.
The community of fashion bloggers that I've connected with have been the most welcoming group of individuals. It's been tough getting my close friends and family on board with my blogging, so it's really exciting to chat with other creative like-minded people.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals

MERRY CHRISTMAS, ya filthy animals

I absolutely love my crazy Christmas' with my family. We've always celebrated Christmas Eve with a bunch of Salvadorean tamales, desserts, ham, turkey and a lot of love. We attend 4:30pm mass, open a bunch of gifts, drink a bit, eat a lot and enjoy each others company. I absolutely love spending time with this crazy bunch. We see each other pretty often but I really love it.

The Black Keys come to Oakland

The Black Keys

"You'll be on my mind
Don't give yourself away
To the weight of love".

When I think of rock and roll music, I think of guys strumming their guitars and banging on the drums in a garage dreaming of one day making it big. Please meet Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney or better known as; The Black Keys. The dynamic duo became friends at a young age and found a love for music in their pastime. They started their humble beginnings in Akron, Ohio and both decided to drop out of college and pursue their dreams of making a career in the music industry.
The two have been known as 'The Black Keys' since 2001 and found their claim to fame in 2010 with the album, Brothers. The duo gained a large underground fan base from the start through  touring at clubs and music festival appearances. The album; 'Brothers' also won 3 Grammy Awards. In 2011, the duo started their arena tour and also landed a number 2 spot on the Billboard's top 100 hits.
I came across The Black Keys during a very intense family game of Guitar Hero. The easiest song was "Lonely Boy" by The Black Keys. Later, I grabbed their album and immediately fell in love with the indie rock band. The upbeat tempo of their music has a positively contagious feeling that no one in the audience can deny.
I was lucky enough to attend the concert and they absolutely blew my mind. The set changed every three songs and it seemed to change the vibe in the arena each time. Another great performance by 'The Black Keys' and I look forward to the future of their music.
