Do you have a case of the Mondays

Happy Monday!!!

Is it just me, or does it feel like this year has been flying by so fast? I can remember last December like it was just yesterday. At the same time, so much has happened!

My train of thought is everywhere right now. (as many of you know about me)

The other day, I met up with a group of girls that I've know for 20 years!! That's nuts! This might have stemmed my train of thought with the fast paced year. We all went to Catholic school together since kindergarten and have all kept in touch, which I think is pretty awesome and fairly rare. I love our sense of nostalgia and reminiscing on the dumb things we did as kids.

This mini reunion inspired me to plan a real reunion with the rest of our class in the next few months. Where I will find the time to do this, I have no idea, but I'm really excited to catch up with everyone.

When we run into old classmates, the age old question remains, "So what are you doing nowadays?" Most of the time, the answer is used to judge others on their accomplishments or creating low self-esteem when you return home on your lack of adventure and efforts.

We all know those feelings hold true, but I hate it. I hate that we judge others and ourselves when we run into old friends. We already keep up with these people through stalking social media to see the life they want us to see, but what's the truth?

I also realized that although I don't think my life is very eventful and exciting to talk about, I should be proud of what I'm doing everyday.

Currently, I'm working at a tech startup in San Francisco during the day, planning events and promotions for an alternative radio station, going to concerts every week, volunteering at Make-a-wish foundation, blogging, yoga classes and everything else in between. That's crazy!

I realize I'm going on a tangent. I just want to know how we can change it?
How many times do you run into someone and they say, "I saw on Facebook that you're in a relationship" or "I saw on Instagram that you moved back home with your parents". Haha where's the sense of mystery? Does that even exist or should we all just document our every move on social media?

Don't get me wrong, I love social media! I love networking with like-minded people, creeping on my ex's and reading hilarious memes on @daddyissues. The content you're putting out in the world should really represent your true self and  remain positive and inspiring. That's my own opinion since misery loves company. So I'm making a vow to put effort into providing content that can inspire and promote a positive outlook in the world. Care to join me?

Nifty Thrifty

Nifty Thrifty

By far one of my favorite past times has to be thrift store hunting. Not only are you finding once in a lifetime pieces, but they are unique and you had to work hard to find such an amazing new article to your wardrobe. I recently went thrifting with a friend and found some of the best pieces for my closet, to date!

5 tips to the best thrifting!

1. Go through each item!
It may be super annoying to look through each piece of clothing, but have to let your creative juices flow! You might find an awesome pattern that can be cut into a dress or find a cool romper stuck between the hangers. Check out all items and you won'd be disappointed.

2. Try on the clothes!
Take the time to try on a few of the clothes. At least try on the jackets and sweaters in the mirror.

3. Be Bold!
Time to be creative and look for the articles of clothing you wouldn't normally wear. This is the time to buy something that's different. No need to feel bad either. Don't commit to spending too much money on these items.

4. Wash the clothes!
Make sure the second you get home, you wash the clothes you bought. Clean them up, start your project, wash out the stains and make it look awesome!

5. You can leave empty handed.
You don't have to leave with something every time you step into a second hand store. If you take the time to go through each item, I guarantee you'll find some great gems!

Wedding Bells are Ringing!

Wedding Bells are Ringing!

There are a few things that I love in this world, my family, music, a serious love for shoes, spontaneous adventures and wedding season!
My cousin got married this past weekend and it was such a spectical. My mother, brother and I drove to Vacaville (roughly an hour away) to attend the event. The ceremony took place in a beautiful Catholic Church and then we drove 15 minuties to attend a backyard barn reception. The lighting was great for pictures and we enjoyed catching up with old relatives.

San Francisco Fashion Week 2015

San Francisco Fashion Week 2015

San Francisco has been putting designers, models, brands and bloggers on the map with their week long fashion events. I was so lucky to attend two events this year; a networking blogger event and the closing high fashion show. I met some of the greatest people during the event and put my faith back in San Francisco fashion.
The community of fashion bloggers that I've connected with have been the most welcoming group of individuals. It's been tough getting my close friends and family on board with my blogging, so it's really exciting to chat with other creative like-minded people.

Back in Action

Hi guys!!!!

I've been in a bit of a hiatus from blogging. Sometimes life tends to throw us some curve balls and some are larger than others. Just because life gets in the way of what we love to do, doesn't mean we should stop doing what makes us happy. (No, I did not find that in a fortune cookie, I'm just that cliché)

With that being said, I'm back in full force, doing what I love.

I can't help that I love fashion, music, adventures and writing about my day to day life. Sharing these posts with you guys makes me accountable and really really happy.

I recently reconnected with an old friend and he recently said, "It's crazy how much motivation you find in yourself during the darkest point in your life." I couldn't agree more and I think that sparked this rekindled love with blogging.

So ladies and gentlemen, get ready to read about my life. My crazy, quarter life crisis, hectic, funny, fashion filled, music obsessed, foodie loving, spontaneous, filled life.

Enjoy!
Xoxo,

Coachella Vibes

The music festival in the desert booked over 100 artists, 6 stages, over 200,000 people in attendance over 2 weekends and created a lifetime worth of memories. This year I was lucky enough to attend the music festival in Indio, California just a few minutes away from Palm Springs.

In 1993, Pearl Jam performed at the Polo Fields in Indio, California as a way to boycott Ticketmaster and a number of event centers in Southern California. In 1997, the promotion firm Golden Voice (which helped to plan Pearl Jam in ’93) was having trouble booking large scale event centers and remembered how successful the concert in the desert was in the past and decided to begin the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Due to the Woodstock riots and fires just three months prior to opening day of Coachella, the staff banned on-site camping until 2002. The two day event brought 70,000 people and booked artists not normally played on the radio and sold day passes for $50 each. Coachella quickly picked up the nickname as the “Anti-Woodstock”.
Fast forward to 2015 the current scene in the desert. Coachella now takes place over 2 weekends and brought in the largest crowd to date. The music acts range from House, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Light Rock and Pop. The event is now not just about the music, but the fashion, celebrities and promotion of businesses. It was my first year at the event and I can definitely speak for every other attendee and say that it was absolutely mind blowing. The art displayed around the polo fields, the range of musical events and the memories of making new friends is indescribable. I am so lucky to work for an awesome alternative radio station in San Francisco and can say that I’ve seen a lot of the acts that performed that weekend, but so many new artists I am now a fan of.
Here is a list of some artists in attendance that you should listen to;
Azelia Banks, Flosstradamus, Chet Faker, Alabama Shakes, Alt-J, Jungle, Vance Joy, George Ezra, Jack White, Fitz & the Tantrum, Tame Impala, Milky Chance, The Weeknd, Florence & the Machine.

My new romper from a boutique on Haight & Ashbury, Nordstrom BP booties, Roxy fringe bag, Forever 21 necklace & Forever 21 sunglasses

Absolut Vodka had a prism photo booth, I couldn't resist!

The art was absolutely incredible. That caterpillar was so freaking awesome!

I went to a small private school from K-8th grade and we had about 30 students that attended for all 9 years. I've known these two for 20 years, how crazy is that?! We've been through so much together and I can confidently say that they will be my friends for a lifetime.

Sephora cosmetics had a tent at the festival and even had flash tattoos for all attendees. The golden temporary tattoos were definitely the "it" trend for the weekend. I decided to take the trend and put my own unique twist to it. I even made it to the Sephora Snapchat page, what what?!!

The caterpillar turned into a butterfly!? That's so awesome!

The infamous ferris wheel! PS. always wear comfy shoes and layered clothes.

Drake headlined on Sunday night and tons of people had jokes throughout the festival
